Idli made in Jackfruit leaves

A typical mangalorean delicacy, mostly prepared during festivals

 
Ingredients:

Making the basket

Jackfruit leaves
cocunut broom sticks

Making the batter
1/4 kg cup urad dal
3 cup rice
salt to taste

Directions:
Making the batter
1) Soak the rise and urad dal in water for 5-6 hours
2) Make the paste in mixer and add salt and leave it to ferment for overnight.

Making the jackfruit
1) Take Four jackfruit leaves and join the ends using the sticks

2) Fold each edge and pin it using the sticks

3) Do it for all the four sides. Cut the top of  the 3 leaves


4)  Pur in the idli batter and steam it like usual idli

Lemon pudina juice

A refreshing drink to have in summer. Happy Summer !!!

Ingredients:


1 cup pudina leaves
1 big lemon juice
2 tblsp sugar(depending on thw sweetness)
1/2 tblsp pepper powder
pinch of black salt(not mandatory)
4 glasses of water(chilled)

Directions:

1) Make paste of pudina leaves.
2) In a vessel  mix in the pudina paste, lemon juice, sugar(dont put more sugar else the pudina taste wont come), salt and water.

Refreshing pudina  and lemon juice is ready.

Note: you can add half soda and half water also.
